| · Scope and Content | The Administration series documents the operations and oversight of JDC’s India program through correspondence, reports, and financial materials. The Staff Lists file includes material detailing the recruitment of a Jewish Service Corps couple for India, a social worker and social work assistant, as well as the transition from Gerhard Gabriel to Nissim Ezekiel as JDC’s Honorary Representative in India. Material of note includes a report by JDC India’s country director, Leon Leiberg, upon his visit to India in the summer of 1984 to assess the welfare needs of the Jewish community; this report includes a Memorandum of Agreement, which agreed on the need to provide regular cash assistance to the needy. As a result of this study, JDC also hired a community worker to handle future assistance cases. | ||||
