Description | Volodymyr Volynsky, the setting for this summer colony, was on the Luga River in a region fought over for several more years by Poland, Bolshevist Russia and Ukrainian People's Republic. In the early 1920's, JDC focused on the needs of children in Poland, particularly orphans. These children most likely had access to such toys for the first time. | |||
