Description | Polish Jewish refugees who were brought to Jamaica from Portugal sitting together in an open air dining room. At the request of the Polish Govenment in Exile, the JDC paid for the transportation to and paid for the maintence of the immigrants. The camp is spread over 250 acres to care for several thousand evacuees from Gibraltar. Some of the refugees have emigrated to the US or Latin America. | |||
