Description | Dr Joseph C Hyman, second from right in the dark suit, JDC Vice-Chairman, examines a coat made in the JDC established work project using dyed army blankets to make overcoats and suits. JDC supported employment projects in DP camps included program in DP Camp Feldafing to produce men's overcoats from dyed US Army blankets. 70 male and female operators are turning out the overcoats for wear by Jewish DP wear, production increased from 50 to 150 per week. The blankets were purchased by JDC in the US from the War Assets Administration and shipped to Germany for work projects in DP camps. | |||
