Description | Czechoslvakia; circa 1946 ;distribution of shoes to some of the 510 Polish Jewish orphans who arrived in Czechoslovakia from Warsaw accompanied by Chief Rabbi Issac Hertzog of Palestine. This is the first group of 5250 orphans who are being given homes in France(5000) and Belgium(250); arrangements made the JDC and the governments concerned by Rabbi Hertzog. While in Czechoslovakia the children were housed in temporary camp at Dablyce outside of Prague where they were clothed and fed by the JDC. JDC logo | |||
