Description | The Leitner family resettled in Norway as a part of the JDC-Norwegian governmental program to help tuberculosis and former TB refugees find new homes. Sonia and Bernhard Leitner are both concentration camp survivors, and Mrs. Leitner has been recovering from tuberculosis since the end of the war. In Norway, Mrs. Leitner can recover in a TB hospital while their son, Chaim, can have a happy childhood. A social worker teaches Chaim in this photo how to play the piano. | |||
