Description | After concluding the first concert of classical chazzanut music to be performed in Moscow, noted American cantor, Joseph Malovaney left, stands before a capacity crowd at Moscow's Tchaikovsky Hall. With him are Ralph I. Goldman, center, honorary executive vice president of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and Konstantin Krimetic, right, conductor of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra which accompanied Malovaney. The concert was one of five sponsored by JDC, which brought Malovany to the USSR for a two-week program of master classes for cantorial students. The 1,500 tickets for the concert sold out in less than 24 hours. | |||
