|Scope and Content||The materials are shaped into 567 numbered folders and comprise about 750 individual files, all told, among them a special group of 68 medical-sanitary files. Masses of administrative and financial materials that were strictly technical in character, and had lost every shred of value following the lapse of decades, were eliminated from the collection (e.g. reconciliations of financial entries between JDC offices, remittances to individuals from one country to another, and the like).|
|Scope and Content||By its organization, the collection strives to present the JDC, its history, its programs and its activities, wherever the data has survived. The presentation also seeks to shed light on JDC policy and decision-making, the role of leadership in the JDC, communal and sectarian pressures on the organization, and related facets that may stir the interest of historians, researchers, communal and social workers, students and other data seekers.|
|Scope and Content||In the mid-1920s, a considerable body of basic documents earmarked for the preparation of a JDC history were withdrawn from the Central Files. The documents dealt with key areas in JDC activities, planning and policy-making, and notably in Poland and Russia where JDC appropriations were at their heaviest in the early 1920s. These documents apparently failed to find their way back to the Archives.|

|Archivist Note||The first section of the Catalogue, covering the years 1914-1918, was prepared by Mrs. Rose Klepfisz, and the second, 1919-1921 (June), by Mrs. Eleanor Mlotek. Marilyn Henry re-cataloged the collection in 2008 using current descriptive standards and practices, but did not renumber files or modify arrangement. This section of the Catalogue was prepared by Emil Lang.||similar items|
